Folks,
I've got a strange whirring noise that gets louder at about 60'ish and a grinding noise at about 20'ish coming, I think from the divers side front wheel. It's been doing it for a while and when my local vxl dealer had the car in for MOT before warranty ran out in Dec I mentioned it being a bearing but they returned the car saying nowt was wrong. Now the warranties run out they miraculously say that the Off Side front bearing needs doing at a cost of £290:o! There's no play in the wheel but they suspect that it might be dry?
To be honest I doubt it'll have been covered under warranty because it’ll be down to wear and tear but I'm a little peeved that they waited until now. They say that the bearing comes as a hub which is £188+vat just to buy. Can I get that any cheaper and get a local "cheaper" garage to fit it, or is that a pretty good price?
How long can I drive around on a dry bearing cos my guess is that i've already been doing it for 4 months(Y)
Also, cheapest place for a set of flat blade wipers?
Vxl, bless ‘em, quoted £38:o but I’ve seen them online for £26. Some name starting with a V I think? The bosh ones are more but are they any better?
Lot of questions I know but I thought I'd get 'em all in one thread. I've search for wipers on here but there's nothing recent.
