bingo.

My 200sx's turbo went on for 94k miles and at least 40k of those boosting 15psi with no dump valve

Don't worry about it

edit: anyway, THIS is what you call turbo chatter

i personally love wastegate chatter, much better than a dumpvalve.

and a mate who builds turbo's boss said to him, that running no dump valve actually stops lag alittle as the dumpvalve lets air free in one quick blow, where as chatter is stages so to speak so by the time of the gear change it doesnt let much air release.

thought id add that to the chatter convo.

its fine i had this on my GSi for ages your tuebs tiny and not running a large amount of boost so it wont do ne damage..ppl will be sayin its turbo stall blah blah blah ignore them its fine it does slightly slow you down as your have to completely re boost every time you let of the accelerater how ever the worring thing is for you car to do this your standard (OE) dump valve must be either blocked off or not working..

Mite chatters like a tro.oper. Ive got no DV at all. I know loads of people who have turbo cars and they chatter. Sounds so much better than a DV.

If you want to hear real sexual chatter youtube a audi quattro rally car. Best noise ever, 5pot turbo mixed with anti lag and chatter.

The more boost you run aswell the louder/stronger the chatter will be and the better it will sound

I've been trying to find out what that noise is for weeks - I heard it on YouTube ages ago and it's been playing on my mind Not a fan of the BOV 'TSSSSSSSSSSS' sound, but love the sound of turbo chatter..

Any way to induce it?

hehe, I'm just interested for future reference

Any particular type of induction kit? What is it that causes turbo chatter? I know it's the air hitting off the turbo blades, but why would an induction kit trigger this?
